The Night of 7 Herons

One should never type random thing in to the internet when slightly merry, but heigh ho.

As I wandered slowly home tonight, along the prom, I counted seven herrons on the mile and a half stretch that seperates home from town.
Seven herrons! I can never remeber seeing that many before.
And pretty much every one of them was crawing like hell. It was very odd. They're very teritorial beasts. Perhaps it was mating season. I don't really know what was going on.
Far from being their normal selves, the silent sentinels of the shore, they were shouting out for all to hear.

It also occured to me on the way home that of all the cartoon characters that I identify with from the recesses of my mind, I think that it has to be Brain from Pinky and the Brain that identify most with.
I really do love how he thinks he's so clever but is thwarted in everything he does in his attempts to take over the world. Oh how I wish he would succeed.
And you just know he's going to look after pinky.
Perhaps there's a bit of Ren in him too - you know that Stimpy's going to always fall on his feet in the end.

More power to The Brain! That's what I say.
